Holy Cow I'm ONE

Better late than never, right? My daughter Marlowe will be 3 next month. As I prepare for her birthday celebration, I thought it would be fun to look back and document her 1st and 2nd Birthday parties.

Marlowe turned 1 May 19, 2022. I remember scrolling on Pinterest for hours trying to find a cute theme when she was only about 5 or 6 months old. I decided to go with the theme "Holy Cow I'm One". We had the party at our house with family and our closest friends in attendance. I did all of the planning and decorating myself. My mom helped with purchasing the food. We did heavy hors d'oeuvres and a fruit and veggie tray. We rented the pink bounce house, marquee letters and tables and chairs from a local rental company. The bounce house was the most expensive item for the party. I purchased almost everything else from Amazon. There are a few things I made myself like the cow print M and cow print #1. I purchased the M and the #1 from Hobby Lobby and just painted them in cow print with acrylic paint. They turned out so cute for table decor! The welcome sign and invitations were editable templates I purchased from Etsy. I saved money by making the balloon arch and columns myself. YouTube was my best friend. I have to be honest though, after I assembled them, I said I would never do it again. Spoiler alert...I've made 3 more since then. I am an RN by day, and this was the first big party I have ever thrown. I'm also a Virgo and if you know any Virgos we tend to avoid asking for help and have this self-sabotaging mentality of rather doing things ourselves out of fear of trusting someone else to do it "perfectly" or to our liking. My family was amazing though and offered to help. They helped with a few things per my instructions ;) Looking back, I highly suggest designating someone to help you. You'll thank me later.

All in all I think it turned out so cute. We had the BEST day celebrating our girl. Planning, executing and hosting a party is exhausting but it is SO worth it when you look back on the memories as your children get older.
